Could you tell us a bit about your work?
I am the Aerospace Program Director at Polk State College in Lakeland, Florida, USA. My program consists of three separate degree programs, a high school aviation program, 12 staff and faculty members, and 275 students. I’m busy – all the time! I absolutely love what I do because I get to share the power of aviation with new generations of future pilots and aviation managers. In addition to managing and developing my program, I also get to teach a few academic courses and provide flight instruction and evaluation to my students, something I deeply love to do!
How do you use Azendoo to organise your work?
Keeping me organized is tough to impossible. There is just so much to accomplish on a daily basis, and priorities constantly shift based on the time of year and the ever-changing nature of aviation in general. Couple that with a big staff and tons of students and I have to have help keeping everything running smoothly.
Azendoo to the rescue!
I prefer to use Azendoo in a widescreen format so that I can view multiple tasks or subjects while always having a view of the current task I’m working on or reviewing. This helps me multitask while still staying focused on the main task at hand.
Did you have any facilities in getting your team to join the application?
I learned about Azendoo from an online article on the tool that I read. I knew better than to spring it on my staff without giving it a solid test first. I used the application (web and mobile) for about a month and realized it was perfect for our workflow. When I introduced it at a staff meeting, it was like a light bulb turned on. Everyone got it. We love Azendoo. Someone remarked to me a few days ago, “how did we do this before?” I honestly don’t know.
How has the application changed the way in which you work?
Our team is very diverse. In addition to program staff, we also collaborate with outside companies and partners as well as our student leaders who manage our student organizations. Having the ability to assign different people to different subjects is great because it allows everyone involved to focus on areas where they are critical.
Nothing inessential takes up our time, which means we work much more efficiently. We have also seem a marked reduction in meetings, which were always hard to plan because of the number of people involved and our complex schedules. Now we use Azendoo to coordinate what we would have wasted face-to-face time with previously.
What is your favorite feature of the application?
Well, it is beautiful. That isn’t a feature, I guess, but it is great. Functionality is key, but aesthetics let me keep it open in front of my face all day. But seriously, my favorite feature of Azendoo is the amount of collaboration it affords us. Azendoo is way more than a task manager. It not only organizes what needs to be done; it also helps you actually get things done. There are no useless features or tools or pages. Azendoo is 100% useful and usable.
What does the future hold for you and Azendoo?
I don’t think it is legal yet to marry a web application, so that’s out, but short of marriage, Azendoo and Polk State Aerospace have a long future ofawesomeness ahead. The Azendoo team’s attitude toward functionality and support are unmatched, in my experience, and the company’s commitment to education means a lot to us. We will be using Azendoo for as long as we both shall live.
Who would you recommend the application to?
Well obviously if you work in education, why would you not use Azendoo? From students to teachers to administrators to schools, Azendoo seems to really get education: what we do and what we need. I’ve tried virtually everything else. This is the best there is. Beyond work, I have workspaces for all sorts of things I’m involved in. Azendoo is for everyone because it is crazy easy to use, and it is so customizable that anyone can get amazing utility
from this amazing tool.
